Your new Timberframed structure begins in the Workshop. It's helpful to learn some timberframe terms when discussing your project.
- Mortise - A hollowed out section of wood that accepts a tenon
- Tenon - A protruding tab of wood that fits into a mortise
- Post - Verticle support structure
- Beam - Horizontal support structure
- Brace - Typically diagonal supports connecting a post to a beam
- Peg - A round piece of hard-wood used to secure a mortise and tenon
