  • Tenon - A protruding tab of wood that fits into a mortise
  • Post - Verticle support structure
  • Beam - Horizontal support structure
  • Brace - Typically diagonal supports connecting a post to a beam
  • Peg - A round piece of hard-wood used to secure a mortise and tenon
